I'm still here, though I've been busy! In the time since my last update, I've taken a hiatus from yoga teaching to focus on grad school, and I've completed both my first and second exams (the latter in May), which makes me a doctoral candidate; my dissertation prospectus is also ready to go. I'm currently drafting two chapters and finishing up some other writing before the spring semester starts in February, when I'll also be working as a Mellon Writing Tutor at Queens College and the Macaulay Honors College (both CUNY) and continuing as an Assistant Editor at Kairos, a web journal of rhetoric, technology, and pedagogy. I also started working for my colleague Kevin's tutoring company, Better Edge Tutoring, last spring.
I may also pick up some yoga classes in Brooklyn this winter - stay tuned. And the cat in the box is my girl Brooklyn (she's not new).
More Brooklyn Yoga!
September 25, 2014
I'm excited to announce that in addition to teaching every Friday and Sunday at New Leaf, I'm now teaching at Body Reserve Gym in the heart of the Slope! I'm there on Thursdays at 8:15 for Unwind Vinyasa. They have a wonderful space, friendly people, and fabulous classes. Shake off your work week with us next time!
I am now a teacher at New Leaf Yoga in Park Slope. I'm overjoyed to join this vibrant yoga and Pilates community, and I am particularly excited to be able to teach regularly in Brooklyn.
I'm teaching Welcome Vinyasa (all levels) on Fridays at 9:30 am and Sundays at 12 pm. Check out our schedule and register here. (Earlybirds get a discount!)
The studio is on 9th Street near the corner of Prospect Park West, a short skip from the F and G at Seventh Avenue. Stop on by and flow with me!
A Girl on "Girls"
March 15, 2013
Watch Lena Dunham's Girls? Want to know what I think about it? Look no further. Thanks to Kase for the opportunity to chat about a fascinating show.
Do You Relate to 'Girls' in General?
I have a complicated relationship with GIRLS. I hate-watched the first few episodes of the first season, and quickly realized I actually loved it. That latter feeling usually persists, punctuated by bouts of "Ugh! I can't believe [blank] just said that."
Are You a Hannah/Marnie/Shosh/Jessa/Charlotte/Carrie/etc?
None of the above. I'm Sandra Bullock.
